Isolation and Identification of Salmonella Spp. on Broiler Meat at Banyuwangi and Blambangan Traditional Markets, Banyuwangi Regency

Salmonella spp. is one of the major causes world's foodborne disease that can spread through meats, eggs, or milk. an enteropathogenic bacteria cause gastrointestinal infections. This study aimed to identify contaminations on broiler meats at Banyuwangi and Blambangan traditional markets district. The method this used 24 samples meat bought from in District. were collected using purposive sampling method. results found 5 out (21%) tested positive for contamination 19 negative. was indicated district have not suitable with SNI (Indonesia's National Standard) 3924:2009 requires least 25 gram fresh chicken be free negative Salmonella.
